Dartford Borough Council have removed the need for separate glass recycling boxes. Instead, you can now put your glass bottles and jars straight in with the rest of your recycling in your grey recycling bin.
You’re welcome to keep the glass recycling box for personal use, but if you’d rather get rid of it, the waste contractor will collect it free of charge – just leave the box on top of your green general waste bin on your collection day and it will be taken away.
From March 31, they will only be accepting glass from your grey recycling bin. If you’re worried about your recycling filling up, remember that you can leave up to three clear see-through sacks of recycling, or neatly folded cardboard, next to your recycling bin.
If you have any concerns, please contact our Waste team.
