GDPR
GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulation. It is the primary UK law that governs how businesses and organisations can collect, use, and store your personal information. It gives you direct control over your data and is enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
- How Data Must Be Handled: Organisations must process your data lawfully, fairly, and transparently. They must only use it for its intended, explicit purpose and keep it secure and no longer than necessary.
- The Legal Framework: UK GDPR applies alongside the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), which supplements the regulations
